Joe's story

Get a little insight into Joe

About Joe

Joe started woodturning as a young man with the guidance from his Grandfather and was soon introduced to some of the most renowned woodturning artists worldwide.

As a woodturner in Dorset, Joe became the youngest approved tutor at just 16 years old by the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain. In 2019, he was awarded The Worshipful Company of Turners Bursary. Joe then went on to be recognised by the Register of Professional Turners and in 2020 given his RPT title. After continuing with his iconic pieces, in 2022 he was made a Yeoman to the Worshipful Company of Turners.

Joe has been labelled a master for shape and form, he pays especial attention to the intricate shape and flow of his pieces. With many there is additional detailing, with piercings, finials, and decorative touches. Each form is finished to an immaculate degree of craftsmanship, and to his exact specifications, something he is renowned for.

Joe has tutored thousands of students over the years of all ages, experience level, and backgrounds, from private tuition, demonstrations and online classes. Not including the many magazines he has worked with.

Joe has also done several experience day giveaways to multiple charity events, as this is also something close to his heart.
